Gonzaga Bulldogs

RPI: 71
Record vs. Top 50 RPI: 1-3
Best Win: 80-64 vs. Washington (neutral)
Worst Loss: 71-66 vs. UCLA
Best Remaining Game: Feb. 20 vs. Saint Mary’s

Gonzaga’s backcourt issues that were the big question mark at the start of the year have kept the Bulldogs from being a consistent team, even in the West Coast Conference.

As of Feb. 6, Gonzaga is a game up on Saint Mary’s, which owns a win over the Bulldogs at home, in the standings. They may not necessarily have to worry about their at-large efforts, but we’re talking worst-case scenario situations here, so Gonzaga needs to be discussed.

Because of their affiliation with the WCC, there aren’t a lot of opportunities to get signature wins within the conference. While Gonzaga loaded up its non-conference schedule, it wasn’t all that kind to them, suffering losses to Texas A&M, Arizona and UCLA.

One game remains on the schedule that’s a big one, though, and that’s their home rematch with the Gaels. Winning that will not only be important for NCAA tournament implications, but for the conference’s regular season title race and conference tournament seeding, as well.

Beyond that, Gonzaga will just have to keep its head down and win games, which will be difficult as five of their final seven games are on the road.
