Russell Westbrook

Despite all of the criticism Westbrook takes for his style of play, KD has always been one of his biggest supporters.

In Durant’s MVP speech, he made a point to speak in length about how highly he thinks of his star teammate. He has also gone on the record on multiple occasions that he believes Westbrook is the best point guard in the NBA. Durant has even gone as far as to say that Russ is the Thunder’s best player.

Durant and Westbrook have grown together since being drafted by the Thunder have learned how to feed off each other, which has especially shown this season. Westbrook is having one of his most efficient seasons ever, and has made an effort to get his teammates involved more often.

At this point, Westbrook is averaging more rebounds than seven-footers like Chris Bosh and more assists than anyone not named Rajon Rondo, all while scoring 24 points to go with it. He is entering his prime and playing the best basketball of his career at the same time as Durant, and that would be hard to replicate.

As much as KD sacrifices sharing shots and spotlight with Westbrook, it would be nothing compared to what would happen if he were to join the Warriors. Winning means everything, and Durant has a chance to do that in Oklahoma City. It would be hard, if not impossible to replicate the kind of bond and chemistry that Westbrook and Durant share.
