History

This is the franchise that drafted Durant, and the only one he has been a part of since then. Both he and the team have grown developed from young and unproven to established annual contenders.

Durant is one of the most reserved and loyal players that has been in the league in a long time, and he has made it public knowledge that he loves OKC. He has made himself a part of the community there by donating his time and resources to help out around the community.

In December, his charity foundation donated $35,000  to a school to help homeless children. This is just one of the many charitable causes Durant has been involved in the OKC community, something he is clearly passionate about.

KD has been loyal to the Thunder since the end of his rookie contract, when he signed an extension rather than opting out for free agency. He referenced his loyalty in an interview with GQ,

Despite all the turmoil the Thunder have faced since signing his extension, Durant has continued his hard work and excellent play. He has been the calming hand to everything that has happened to the team between the James Harden and Reggie Jackson trades to the injuries he and Russell Westbrook have gone through.

No matter what Golden State or any other suitor may have to offer, none of them will have the appeal of staying with his original franchise.
