10. Antoine Walker, 2003

How Chosen: Reserve

Antoine Walker made three All-Star appearances in his 12-year NBA career, the last of which came in 2003.

Eastern Conference coaches selected Walker from the 27-22 Boston Celtics based on counting numbers of 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. They chose to overlook the .393/.346/.616 shooting line.

There were other decent candidates in the East, such as Carlos Boozer of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Donyell Marshall of the Chicago Bulls and Shareef Abdur-Rahim of the Atlanta Hawks.

Or there was the antithesis of Walker, power forward P.J. Brown of the New Orleans Hornets.

Brown was doing all the little things for a newly relocated New Orleans squad that got to the break at 26-24. He was averaging 10.3 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting .531/0-for-2/.851 when the break arrived.

Walker played just nine minutes as the East lost a 155-145 double-overtime decision at Atlanta’s Philips Arena and finished with six points and a rebound on 2-of-4 shooting, including 1-of-3 from deep.

Brown never made an All-Star game in his 15-year career. Walker never made another appearance.
