Pacers A Team Of Journeymen
Monta Ellis
Ellis is in his 11th NBA season. He has also played for four different teams in his career. It all started in Oakland, where he was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 2005. He had a really impressive career with the Warriors, averaging 20.6 points per game. Besides his first and last year for the Warriors, his field goal percentage never dropped below 45 percent.
This is very impressive for how many jump shots Ellis would take every game.
After his time for the Warriors he played a season and a half for the Milwaukee Bucks. He played well with the Bucks, averaging almost six assists per game in just the short time he was there. After he got a taste of Milwaukee, he took his talent down south to the Dallas Mavericks. He played two seasons with the Mavericks and he started in every game he played.
Averaging around 19 points per game, these two seasons were steady for Ellis.
Now in his first season for the Pacers, his points per game have dropped to the lowest since his rookie year. This can be expected with Ellis turning 30 this year and also playing alongside Paul George. Lately Ellis has been scoring well, averaging 19.4 points per game in the last five games.
He is also coming off back-to-back great scoring games, scoring 25 on Jan. 28 and then 32 on Jan. 30. He isn’t as quick as he used to be and this should be expected, but if he can boost his assists per game then he should be expected to be a contributing factor for the Pacers.
