Top Four SFs
- Carmelo Anthony (Knicks) – $8,400 vs. Celtics (24th)
- Trevor Ariza (Rockets) – $5,900 vs. Heat (19th)
- Luol Deng (Heat) – $4,800 @ Rockets (30th)
- Al-Farouq Aminu (Trail Blazers) – $4,900 vs. Bucks (29th)
Rationale:
- Anthony is the best play at the small forward position. He’s only scoring 36.8 FPPG in two meetings with the Celtics this season. However his matchup is even more favorable if Jae Crowder can’t play for Boston.
- Ariza scored 30.3 fantasy points in his first meeting with the Heat this season. He’s been on fire as of late, scoring 35.7 FPPG in his last six games. That’s a full 10.0 FPPG better than his season average.
- Deng scored 23 fantasy points against the Rockets in their first meeting. In his last three games he’s scoring 28.1 FPPG, which is 6.9 FPPG above his season average. Against the worst team versus small forwards, his matchup is favorable.
- Aminu only scored 20.8 fantasy points in his first meeting with the Bucks this season. His rebounding and scoring can improve against the 21st team in opponents’ rebounding percentage and the 19th team in opponents’ field goal percentage.
- Admittedly, the small forward position is somewhat of a crapshoot. Playing Anthony or Ariza may be the best bet at a high-scoring night, though the cheaper guys have the best chance at returning value.
