2016 NBA Rookie Ladder: Who Has The Most Trade Value?
6. Emmanuel Mudiay, Denver Nuggets
Depending on who you ask, Mudiay’s trade value could be enormous.
If you’re just taking a look at purely what he’s done in his rookie season to this point, you might say that Mudiay is nothing more than an inclusion in a trade to net a star and not one of the more central pieces of the deal.
However, others will tell you he’s untouchable because of his ridiculous superstar upside.
His jump shot isn’t broken and he’s shown improvement at running the point guard position. If he cuts down on turnovers and becomes a better shooter (both entirely possible) then we’re having a different conversation.
Could he still be a bust? Yes, but it’s far too early to tell. The physical tools are still there and he seems like a hard-working kid who’s determined to get better. Mudiay is worth taking a chance on if I’m a team looking for a point guard and can pry him away, although that might be impossible at this moment given Denver’s current situation with floor generals.
