Why do the Los Angeles Lakers do this?
They get a star, said star also becomes their ambassador heading into this offseason. Carmelo Anthony is the type of star that could thrive in the L.A. atmosphere. Having already played in New York the intense spotlight shouldn’t be an issue. If the Lakers truly want to scrap the rebuild this would be a great place to start.
Why do the New York Knicks do this?
I don’t know that the Knicks would do this at this point, I think Anthony has shown growth and the ability to buy in. However, having two of the top four picks in the 2015 draft is a nice place to start a rebuild from. Russell and Kristaps Porzingis could grow together and form a fearsome duo for years to come.
