Markieff Morris

Markieff Morris wants out in Phoenix and Nick Young has been on the outs in Los Angeles since they mistakenly signed the gunslinger to an extension. Here’s a scenario where both can get fresh starts.

Morris’ outside game and ability to hit consistently from beyond the arc is something that the Lakers desperately need right now as they rank dead last in the association in three point percentage. He’s got the flexibility to be paired down low in a lineup with bangers like Hibbert or Tarik Black or playing the stretch-4 in a small-ball lineup with Julius Randle.

On the flip side, the Suns are always looking for gunners and are even more hungry for one with the recent injury woes they’ve been having. Young, at worst, is a consistent three-point threat and at best could be a legitimate scoring threat for the sixth best scoring bench in the league.

Adding Bass to the trade not only works for financial purposes, but effectively replaces Morris in the frontcourt and pairs a bruiser with Tyson Chandler on the boards.

Sounds like a win-win.
