With the trade deadline around a few weeks away, we take a look at a few players the Los Angeles Lakers could try to make a deal for.

The Los Angeles Lakers are in a bit of a predicament this trade season.

Conventional wisdom would say that the team would not make their three most valuable assets in D’Angelo Russell, Julius Randle and Jordan Clarkson available despite rumors of Russell being quietly shopped. Their draft pick, while holding the faint possibility to be a top three selection, is not attractive due to the clause that gives it to the 76ers if it falls out of the top three.

That leaves them with limited bait to dangle in the trade market, as they can only shop semi-valuable veterans like Roy Hibbert, Nick Young, Lou Williams and Brandon Bass.

What they can get in exchange for such players remains to be seen but, knowing the Lakers, they’re going to find a way to aim high if they do find a trade they want to execute. It seems that the team ideally would want to land a player who can help remedy their immediate struggles more so than one that will have an impact in their future as well, while that would be a welcome bonus.
