5. Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are downright atrocious in isolation. According to NBA.com, Charlotte is No. 28 in both points and field goal percentage under such circumstances, checking in at 31.2 percent.

One can argue that Tyreke Evans’ isolation tendencies can hurt a team, but in Charlotte’s case, they’d be welcome.

The Hornets have a number of competent playmakers and talented wing scorers. What’s absent is a big-body slasher who can attack the rack and finish in traffic, which is exactly what Evans has established himself as.

If Steve Clifford can help Evans improve his jump shot, he could be a steal of an acquisition.

The potential for that to transpire is legitimate, as Charlotte has already helped Michael Kidd-Gilchrist improve his infamously ugly shooting form. If it can do the same for Evans, whose jump shot isn’t necessarily broken, he could be the standout they need to facilitate a push to the postseason.

This isn’t schematically perfect, but Evans would address Charlotte’s most significant weakness.
