Fielding consistent criticism for not having a household name on the roster, Isaiah Thomas and the Boston Celtics continue to silence the critics. Thomas has emerged as one of the best offensive point guards in the NBA, and Boston is in possession of the No. 5 seed.

Those are not mutually exclusive pieces of information.

Thomas has been the driving force behind the Celtics’ rise up the standings. He’s No. 9 in the NBA in assists per game and No. 12 in scoring, which places him at No. 2 in the Eastern Conference in dimes and No. 5 in points per contest.

Thomas very clearly deserves to be an All-Star in 2016.

Thomas maintained his Top 20 spot by leading the Celtics to four consecutive wins. He tallied 22 big points against the Chicago Bulls, had 20 in 24 minutes at the Philadelphia 76ers, tallied 23 points and nine assists in 28 minutes against the Washington Wizards, and paced Boston past the Denver Nuggets with 16 points and five dimes.

It was yet another string of compelling performances by the 5’9″ dynamo.
