Since going down with a partially torn left quadriceps tendon, Blake Griffin has remained in the Top 20. He was No. 6 at the time of his injury, and projected to come back in a small enough window to be listed amongst the best, thus far.
With a second injury now occurring, Griffin is officially out of the Top 20.
It was later revealed that Griffin engaged in a physical altercation with one of the team’s equipment staff members.
It’s a disappointing incident, to say the very least.
Griffin is expected to miss four-to-six weeks due to this latest injury. Having already missed 16 games, it’d be impossible to justify keeping Griffin in the Top 20, especially with his not yet making a full recovery from the quadriceps injury.
His play clearly warrants it, but when a player is absent for as long as Griffin, they must be removed from the player power rankings.
