John Wall is the Washington Wizards. That may seem a bit extreme, but Washington’s floor general has been the catalyst to everything positive that’s transpired thus far—and that proves true on both ends of the floor.

A walking double-double who was named All-Defense in 2014-15, the criminally underrated point guard is on pace to become a three-time All-Star and—finally—an All-NBA honoree in 2015-16.

Wall’s dished out at least 10 assists in five consecutive games, but even that hasn’t saved Washington from itself. Bradley Beal is injured again and the Wizards’ offense simply doesn’t move without Wall both scoring and facilitating at elite levels.

The fact that the Wizards are only three games below .500 is a testament to how well he’s played.

This past week was a rough one, but Wall’s tremendous season deserves to be recognized. He won Eastern Conference Player of the Month in December, and is flirting with an efficient 20 and 10 in January.

Wall is a borderline superstar, whether he’s recognized as such or not.
