Paul George, much like the Indiana Pacers, is thriving one week and falling apart the next. It’s been a confusing season for a player who looked like an MVP candidate in November, shot below 40.0 percent from the field in December, and has blended flashes of both in January.

The fact remains, when George gets hot, there aren’t many better.

George was a virtual non-factor during the Pacers’ 122-110 loss to the Golden State Warriors, which continued a disappointing stretch. He responded well, recording 34 points at the Sacramento Kings and 31 with 11 rebounds against the Los Angeles Clippers.

Unfortunately, all three of those games were losses.

George righting the ship individually would go a long way towards Indiana achieving stability as a team. A trade at the upcoming deadline could happen—not involving George, of course—but regardless of what’s around the 25-year-old, he must find a way to make it work.

Now a three-time All-Star before his prime has even begun, it’s on George to step up and lead the Pacers to the next level.
