14. Lakers’ All-Time Leading Scorer

Kobe Bryant has achieved many great feats throughout his career as a star for the Los Angeles Lakers. Very few compare to his securing the No. 1 spot on a team list that’s as prestigious as most league-wide distinctions.

On February 1, 2010, Bryant passed Jerry West to become the Lakers’ all-time leading scorer—and he did so by scoring 44 points against the Memphis Grizzlies.

It may be a team-based accomplishment, but the Lakers have played home to some of the greatest scorers in NBA history. Bryant worked his way past the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor, Magic Johnson, and West to reach this plateau.

By simply passing West, Bryant moved into the Top 20 on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

Being the No. 1 scorer in the history of one of basketball’s most storied organizations is a major feat. It made the cries louder than ever that Bryant had become the greatest player in franchise history.

Whether or not you believe that to be true, the numbers say he’s the greatest scorer.
