27. RIP Steve Nash

In 2012-13, the Los Angeles Lakers attempted to build a backcourt with two of the greatest guards in NBA history. Untimely injures played a role in the duo failing to make it work, but between Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash, there are three MVP awards, 22 All-NBA honors, and 25 All-Star Game appearances.

Before Bryant and Nash were teammates, they were rivals.

Bryant’s Lakers and Nash’s Phoenix Suns had a number of memorable duels in the NBA Playoffs. Thus, it stands to reason that The Black Mamba’s Top 50 has a number of moments against that very team.

Very few were as memorable as this.

In this postseason clash between the Lakers and Suns, Los Angeles carried a 90-83 lead into the final three-and-a-half minutes of the fourth quarter. True to form, Bryant decided to do something spectacular to help the Lakers close the victory out.

This dunk will appear on Bryant’s highlight reel for years to come.
