50. Michael Jordan Pays Tribute to Kobe Bryant

As Kobe Bryant makes the rounds for his farewell tour, every away venue seems to have a special treat in store. Some provide highlight packages and memorabilia, while others simply honor the Los Angeles Lakers legend with a lengthy standing ovation.

The Charlotte Hornets gave Bryant the ultimate respect when owner Michael Jordan took time out to praise his heir apparent for an outstanding career.

Bryant has been compared to Jordan since the day he stepped foot in the NBA. With a similar build, explosive athleticism, and an uncanny ability to put points on the board, the likening was easy enough to understand.

Not many expected Bryant to actually live up to the hype.

Whether or not you feel he reached Jordan’s level, Bryant is regarded by most as the closest thing we’ve ever seen to the six-time Finals MVP. That’s high praise, and it’s what made this moment one of the most memorable of Bryant’s illustrious career.

Seeing one icon praise another is the type of moment that sends chills up your spine.
