38. 2011 All-Star Game

Leading up to the 2011 All-Star Game, a 32-year-old Kobe Bryant had surprising question marks surrounding him. Despite being a two-time defending NBA champion, Bryant had been removed from his perch as the best player in the world.

During the 2011 All-Star Game, Bryant had some pondering if he still deserved the No. 1 spot.

Bryant scored a game-high 37 points—three more than Kevin Durant—en route to his fourth career All-Star Game MVP award. It was a masterful performance by a player who had the championships to prove his merit, but still didn’t receive the respect that most believed he deserved.

The fact that Bryant pulled down 14 rebounds was a sign of just how hard he was willing to work to shine amongst his peers.

LeBron James tallied 29 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, but Bryant led the Western Conference to the victory. It was a stellar showdown between the Top 2 players in the Association.

With another class performance by No. 24, Bryant reminded his peers that he’s the face of his generation.
