40. Kobe Blocks LeBron—Twice

On rare and glorious occasions, the best of a previous generation will square off against the No. 1 player of the modern era. That transpired at the 2013 NBA All-Star Game, amongst other occasions, when Kobe Bryant represented the Western Conference and LeBron James led the players of the East.

In what can be described as Bryant’s last healthy season, he took full advantage of the opportunity to outclass his contemporary.

James finished with 19 points and five assists, but it was Bryant who got the last laugh. The Black Mamba finished with nine points, eight assists, four rebounds, two blocks, and two steals, with both of the swats coming on, “The King.”

Both brought the crowd to their feet.

Bryant wrapped around James from behind to block his jump shot, which was impressive enough to warrant consideration for this list. He then went coast-to-coast with the four-time MVP and blocked his layup attempt.

It was the signature, “You’ve still got some things to learn,” moment between two icons of the sport.
