Verdict

By the time all is said and done, both players are locks for the Hall of Fame.

If Curry is able to stay healthy, he will grab another MVP or two to go along with his championship rings (calling it early). It’s just a matter of time before he obliterates Ray Allen’s all-time three-point record and sets all sorts of franchise records for the Warriors.

Westbrook will go down as one of the best guards to ever pick up a ball, but his individual accolades will always be limited as long as he plays next to Kevin Durant. Russ takes a lot of unwarranted criticism for his style of play and rarely receives enough credit for his impact. Because of having another superstar teammate, it will be harder for Westbrook to win an MVP.

Curry is also on the better team, and has an opportunity to win multiple championships in the very near future. Overall, Curry is simply in a better overall situation than Westbrook with more chances to succeed. No matter how impressive Westbrook’s individual statistics turn out to be, Curry has a chance to match those numbers while winning titles and MVPs during the process.
