Russell Westbrook and Stephen Curry have become two of the best players in the NBA, but they have taken very different paths in order to get there.

After being the fourth pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, Westbrook started 64 games during his rookie season, and was given the keys to the offense from the jump. His explosive athleticism gave him the ability to make an immediate impact on defense while rounding out his offensive skills.

Oklahoma City got a quick return on their investment in their young point guard, as the Thunder improved from 23 wins during his rookie year to 50 wins and a playoff berth in year two.

Curry came into the league after leading mid-major Davidson to unlikely success in the NCAA tournament. Despite how successful Curry’s college career was, many experts weren’t sure how his professional career would pan out.

After being the seventh pick in the 2009, there were questions about what position Curry would fit into and how he would mesh with Monta Ellis in Golden State’s backcourt.

Since then, Curry has become the best shooter in the history of the league and the unstoppable force leading an offensive juggernaut, picking up an MVP award and a championship along the way.

Despite their different paths to stardom, both players are set to dominate the NBA for years to come. But which player will finish with the better career?
