NBA: Top 10 Players 21 And Under
3. Giannis Antetokounmpo (21 years, one month), Milwaukee Bucks
2015-16 statistics: 15.5 PPG, 7.2 RPG, 2.8 APG, 16.54 PER
This is Giannis Antetokounmpo’s third season in the NBA, all of which have been with the Milwaukee Bucks. Coming into the 2013 NBA Draft, he was looked at as being one of the most raw prospects in recent years. His length was what attracted NBA teams, but it was questionable if he would ever pan out in the NBA.
Every season thus far, Antetokounmpo has improved his averages. The three-year man out of Greece has also shown flashes of being able to handle the ball efficiently, and with his size, two dribbles are enough to go the length of the court for a fast break dunk. Defensively he is a handful. His monstrous 7’3″ wingspan is long enough to block just about any shot.
His 1.16 blocks per game rank third among small forwards.
It is expected that Antetokounmpo will continue to improve as the seasons progress. Once he becomes a consistent shooter and polishes his ball-handling, you could be looking at one of the top players in the league.
