1. Karl-Anthony Towns (20 years, two months), Minnesota Timberwolves

2015-15 statistics: 15.8 PPG, 9.7 RPG, 1.8 BPG, 21.56 PER

Karl-Anthony Towns continues the long list of NBA one-and-done players from the University of Kentucky. Besides Anthony Davis, Towns has the skill set to be the most special. With comparisons to Tim Duncan coming out of college, and now being mentored by Kevin Garnett on the Timberwolves, Towns’ pathway to success is inevitable.

One part of his game that wasn’t revealed during his time with Kentucky was his outside shooting. Once he started working out for teams prior to the draft, video of him stroking three’s leaked out and made him even more of a worthy No. 1 overall pick. For the season, Towns is shooting 38.9 percent behind the arc.

Towns’ footwork and feel for the game overall is what impresses the majority and also helps prove the argument that he will soon be one of the top centers in the NBA. He is the frontrunner for Rookie of the Year and helped the Timberwolves get off to a decent start to the season.

As a team, they’ve hit a bump in the road and now at the bottom of the Western Conference along with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phoenix Suns, but the future of Towns will guarantee a playoff slot in the coming years.
