2. 73 Wins Is Still In Play

The Golden State Warriors have lost two of their last four games, Draymond Green has missed a few games due to rest, Stephen Curry’s leg was banged up for awhile, Harrison Barnes missed 16 games and head coach Steve Kerr hasn’t coached a single game because of his back.

That’s where we’re at halfway through the season, and yet even without the injury luck the Dubs enjoyed last year, they’re still on pace to win 74 games and shatter the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls’ all-time record of 72 regular season wins.

That feat is remarkable in and of itself, since last week’s 1-2 skid had some wondering if the Dubs were experiencing their first slump of the season. With a tough road contest against the Cleveland Cavaliers looming, the Warriors responded by handing LeBron James the worst loss of his Cavs career, a 34-point rout that wasn’t even that close.

The Dubs get up for the big games, and though there are plenty of key factors that will go into reaching that prestigious 73-win mark, it’s absolutely in play if everyone stays healthy and the San Antonio Spurs keep the pressure on for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference.
