Best Bargains

Cory Joseph ($4,100) should be a player drafted as a bargain. He scored 18.8 fantasy points against the Nets in their first meeting. He is coming off of a good two-game showing where he’s averaged 27.8 FPPG. Against the 24th team versus point guards, Joseph should have another solid game off the bench.

Stanley Johnson ($3,900) is averaging 21.4 fantasy points against the Bulls in two games this season. If Brandon Jennings is out on Monday, he’s a 50-50 shot to play after suffering an ankle injury on Saturday, Johnson will have to step up with the bench players. In his last six games, Johnson is averaging 21.0 FPPG. That includes a 6.75-fantasy point performance against the Spurs. He’s playing well and should continue to do so against the 28th team versus small forwards.

Players To Sit

Victor Oladipo ($7,300) is a player to consider leaving off of your DraftKings team. He only scored 16.5 fantasy points in his first contest against the Hawks. He struggled in that game, shooting 2-for-11 (18.2 percent) and wasn’t able to grab a single rebound, averages 4.9 per game. While he is averaging 39.0 FPPG in his last five contests, he’s playing against the sixth-best team against shooting guards on Monday.

More from Hoops Habit

Take your pick on which power forwards to sit. Instead of going in-depth, here are a list of guys that I would sit at the power forward position: Thaddeus Young @ Raptors, Zach Randolph vs. Pelicans, Nikola Mirotic @ Pistons, Clint Capela @ Clippers, Ersan Ilyasova vs. Bulls, and Cody Zeller vs. Jazz. If you want a reason as to why I’d sit these players or have questions about other players to sit, tweet me @Sports_Aaron.

A couple of thoughts before heading to Monday’s best lineup. Power forwards seem like a weak play to me. Whether it’s bad matchups or bad prior performances, there just aren’t a lot of matchups I like, so there it’s possible to save money at the 4 and spend a little extra elsewhere.

Where the power forward position lacks, the center position reaps. I could give an equally long list of players that should be great plays at the center position. There are fantasy-friendly matchups at the center position, coupled with a strong showing against their opponents previously.
