NBA Trade Rumors: Best Landing Spots for Greg Monroe
Honorable Mention: Dallas Mavericks
Record: 23-18
Untouchables: Wesley Matthews, SG; Dirk Nowitzki, PF
Tradable Assets: J.J. Barea, PG; Zaza Pachulia, C; Chandler Parsons, SF
Zaza Pachulia has been a revelation for the Dallas Mavericks. He’s No. 6 in the NBA in rebounds per game, No. 2 in offensive rebounding, and an invaluable playmaker in Rick Carlisle‘s rotation.
Unless the Mavericks begin to show signs of being a legitimate championship contender, however, a long-term improvement is still needed at center.
Greg Monroe wouldn’t solidify the Mavericks’ defensive interior, which is something that Dallas needs in the long-run. What he would do is serve as a developable talent who can operate from the low post under coach Carlisle’s tutelage.
As far as Monroe’s limitations, if any player can help Monroe expand his offensive range, it’s Dirk Nowitzki.
Dallas would still need to improve its defensive interior, but Monroe and Nowitzki would provide a very intriguing low-high balance. While the Milwaukee Bucks star stations himself on the low block, the Mavericks legend primarily operates from the high post.
If Carlisle could help Monroe tap into his potential, Dallas would have one of the very best interior offenses in the NBA.
