The Ohio State Buckeyes have done a solid job of producing NBA players. Mike Conley, Kosta Koufos, D’Angelo Russell, Jared Sullinger, and Evan Turner make up the current crop of Thad Matta alum who are excelling in the Association.
Marc Loving could one day thrive with them.
Loving doesn’t create his own offense with the desired level of consistency, but he can be a major asset on a team that preaches ball movement. He moves well without the ball in his hands, has a pretty midrange game, and has a gorgeous stroke from beyond the arc.
Loving also stands at 6’7″ and 215 pounds with a wingspan that’s been reported at 7’1.5″.
Loving has been erratic as a first option, but he operated perfectly as an off-ball threat in 2014-15, shooting 46.1 percent from beyond the arc. He can work off of screens, rise above defenders, and shoot from anywhere on the court.
Loving can have a lengthy NBA career if he goes to a team that will utilize him as an off-ball scorer who can create in a pinch.
