PG- Darren Collison, Sacramento Kings

2015-16 Statistics: 13.0 PPG, 4.6 APG, 2.2 RPG, 45.5 FG%

Darren Collison has been a player who has experienced both the starting role and backup role throughout his six-year career in the NBA. Last season, he started in all 45 games that he played in, but since the acquisition of Rajon Rondo in the offseason, Collison has had to adjust his game back into the reserve point guard mindset.

It doesn’t seem to phase Collison whether he is starting or coming off the bench, at least in his production. He is still averaging 29.1 minutes per game and ranks third on the team in scoring. In a very competitive starting point guard pool around the NBA, Collison is most effective when he is coming off the bench rather than starting.

Going up against elite night in and night out wouldn’t turn out well for him in the long run.

After seeming to be a train about to fly off the tracks, the Sacramento Kings are respectable in comparison to their recent seasons with a 16-23 overall record. In 10th place, they remain just one game behind the Utah Jazz for the last playoff spot in the Western Conference.

It will remain to be seen if Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins can continue to carry them throughout the second half of the season when teams really tighten up to prepare for a playoff run.
