Best Bargains

Stanley Johnson ($3,900) scored 29.8 fantasy points against the Warriors. His rookie season has had ups and downs, but he’s trending upwards lately. He’s scored 20-plus fantasy points in five of his last games, scoring 21.4 FPPG in that span. Johnson will have to be a major factor off the bench for the Pistons to have a shot at knocking off the defending champs.

The Warriors are 16th against small forwards, by the way.

Kelly Olynyk ($4,800) is a more expensive option as a bargain. He’s averaging 35.9 FPPG in two meetings with the Wizards this season. He hasn’t played consistently well in his last 10 contests, but his ability to knock down three pointers has allowed him to expand his game and have big fantasy nights.

Players To Sit

Ish Smith ($7,300) should not be drafted by DraftKings players on Saturday. He’s only averaging an atrocious 9.9 FPPG in three meetings with the Trail Blazers. In those games, he only averaged 12.0 minutes per game, but those were in a reduced role with the Pelicans. He shot 3-for-15 (20 percent) in those meetings.

He’s helped lead the 76ers since they acquired him, but he shouldn’t be a good play in DraftKings on Saturday.

Carmelo Anthony ($8,300) has been nursing a sprained ankle that kept him out of competition on Wednesday, according to the New York Daily News’ Frank Isola. Coming back from an ankle isn’t easy, even if Anthony has had three days to rest it. Though he would be playing against the 20th ranked team against small forwards, the value just isn’t there on Saturday night.

Saturday’s slate should be full of fun, high-scoring games. There are also some good storylines, such as the Pistons retiring Ben Wallace‘s jersey, Draymond Green returning to Michigan and nearby Michigan State, or players such as Damian Lillard and DeMarcus Cousins looking to build upon strong outings.

It will be another fun slate of games in the NBA to rival the NFL’s Divisional Playoff coverage.
