NBA: 5 All-Star Bench Players Of The East
SF – C.J. Miles, Indiana Pacers
2015-16 Statistics: 13.7 PPG, 3.0 RPG, 1.1 APG, 40.9 FG%
As the Indiana Pacers began this season with injuries and a new offensive scheme revolving around small-ball, C.J. Miles saw opportunities at both the small forward and power forward positions. No matter what position he played, Miles would destroy opposing defenses by knocking down endless threes.
Now that the Pacers are back to starting a more conventional lineup, Miles is filling his role coming off the bench. Even still, he is making his presence felt when his number is called. Miles ranks 10th in the NBA in made three-pointers with 91. His 13.7 points per game average ranks second on the team.
The Pacers are playing solid basketball thus far. With questions surrounding whether or not Paul George would be able to get back to form from his leg injury that occurred two summers ago, they are off to a 22-17 start (fifth in the East) and George’s name continues to be in the MVP conversation.
Miles coming off the bench makes them a more dangerous team simply because having a scorer that can come in at any time and make threes is an asset to any team.
