1. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Last Rank: No. 1

Position: Point Guard

Age: 27

Slash Line: .507/.444/.905

Season Averages: 34.0 MPG, 29.8 PPG, 6.5 APG, 5.2 RPG, 2.1 SPG, 4.6 3PM

Verdict: Engulfed in Flames

Stephen Curry is ridiculous. He doesn’t have 3-point range range, he has an orbit; he doesn’t have clutch heroics, he has the entire Justice League packed into an absurdly quick release that simply cannot be defended.

Not even a shocking loss to the Denver Nuggets can change the fact that Curry is No. 1 in the race for MVP.

Curry opened the week with 26 points and nine assists against the Portland Trail Blazers, and annihilated the Sacramento Kings with 38 points and 11 dimes just one day later. He converted just 11-of-27 attempts from the field against the Miami Heat, but still managed to pour in 31 points.

Curry had eight costly turnovers during the loss to the Nuggets, but he also scored 38 points—including 20 in the fourth quarter alone.

Curry and the Warriors are still No. 1 in the standings, and for as long as that holds true, he’s going to be No. 1 in these rankings. Even if Golden State does begin to slow down, Curry has built himself a healthy lead over the competition.

More hoops habit: Whoa! Is Tom Thibodeau already on his way back into the NBA?

Good luck to the rest of the NBA; Curry will be hard to catch.
