Verdict: Hot

The Golden State Warriors are 36-2 with Draymond Green and 0-1 without him. Take that as you will, but Golden State fell 112-110 to the now 15-24 Denver Nuggets in its first and only game without Green in 2015-16.

That has to count for something.

Green has been the Warriors’ defensive anchor, leading rebounder, primary facilitator, and go-to interior scoring option. He’s bailed Golden State out of near-losses with and without Stephen Curry in the rotation, and has come on strong as a scorer in recent outings.

Over the past week, Green’s full value was displayed.

Green recorded 25 points and nine rebounds in a 128-116 road victory at the Sacramento Kings, and had 22 points, 12 boards, and six assists in a 111-103 win against the Miami Heat. He also tallied 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists in a 128-108 road blowout of the Portland Trail Blazers.

If not his well-rounded statistics, well-documented defense, or well-educated approach to the game, Green’s league-best eight triple-doubles should speak for themselves.
