Washington Wizards Debating Trades

The Washington Wizards are one of the unfortunate teams that have been cursed by injuries. Shooting guard Bradley Beal, power forward Nene Hilario, and small forward Otto Porter Jr., amongst others, have all been sidelined for some period of time in 2015-16.

John Wall has done his best superstar impression to keep the Wizards relevant, but the team still sits below .500.

Even with a healthy roster, the upside of this season’s team has been debated. Wall is an absolute stud, and Beal is a proven postseason performer, but the supporting cast fails to illicit championship hype.

According to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, the Wizards will use this upcoming stretch of games to determine whether or not they should be dealers at and leading up to the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline.

"You could be the Washington Wizards (16-19), who league sources say are hoping to put together a rare 10-12 game stretch at or close to full health before deciding whether they’re going to be sellers in the trade market with the deadline approaching Feb. 18."

Washington certainly has assets.

Nene is on an expiring $13 million contract, which makes him an incredibly attractive trade asset. He can be utilized by teams in need of a salary dump, which could, in turn, bring some intriguing talent to Washington.

Alan Anderson, $4,000,000, and Jared Dudley, $4,250,000, are also on expiring contracts. Between Anderson, Dudley, and Nene, the Wizards could make a significant splash on the open market.

The question is, can Wall and the Wizards right the ship before a trade proves necessary?
