2. Bulls Continue To Struggle Against Inferior Opponents

Prior to Tuesday night’s game, the Bulls boasted an impressive 7-1 record against the teams that were ahead of them in the overall standings. At the same token, however, in five of the team’s six home losses, five of them have come against teams whose records were under .500.

That list includes the Minnesota Timberwolves, Charlotte Hornets, Phoenix Suns, Brooklyn Nets, and most recently, the Wizards. Taken that fact into consideration, it shouldn’t come as a total shock that the Bulls once again failed to give their best effort against an inferior opponent.

One of the main culprits behind their uneven play?

"“(Energy) absolutely should be the constant,” coach Fred Hoiberg said, via the . “That’s what we have to keep working toward.”"

Taj Gibson also chimed in with a somewhat simple solution.

"“Veteran group. Have to correct it the way we did earlier in the season,” Taj Gibson told the Chicago Tribune. “Everybody just has to do their job, be mentally and physically ready. That’s all.”"

The only problem is that the Bulls haven’t proven they can be mentally and physically ready on a consistent basis. Until they do, fans can expect to see more games like this for the duration of the season.
