Game 3 – Chicago Bulls (Jan. 15)

During the first meeting of the season, the Mavs escaped American Airlines Center with a 118-111 win as J.J. Barea scored 26 points to lead all scorers. The two teams put on yet another electrifying show for the fans watching.

The third game of the stretch, and second away game, will be a visit to the United Center. Both of these teams are very close in terms of roster matchups, which is why their first game was so exciting.

The ability to shoot the three-pointer will determine the winner of this game. Though the Mavs are 20th on the league’s three-point shooting list, they can be just as lethal as the Bulls from long range. They hit twice as many threes as the Bulls in their first meeting and that ultimately led to their win.

Dirk Nowitzki will be key as he likes to pull the Bulls’ talented big men away from the basket, a place where their interior defense is no good. The Mavs’ biggest issue will be slowing down the dynamic duo of Derrick Rose and Jimmy Butler, as they both like to attack the basket.
