3 Trade Ideas For The Miami Heat And Hassan Whiteside
By Josh Eberley
Miami Heat and Boston Celtics
The Deal:
Miami Heat send Hassan Whiteside, Chris Andersen, Josh McRoberts
Boston Celtics send Avery Bradley, Jared Sullinger, Dallas Mavericks’ first-round pick (protected 1-7).
Why do the Celtics do this?
The Celtics are hungry and have been itching to make a big move. They have a coach they are proud of, they have a roster they’re getting maximum production from, and they feel like they’re one piece away. It’s no secret that the Celtics have coveted a big man and Whiteside is the right age to fit in with this core for an extended run.
They plug Whiteside in at center and in theory become a real contender in the East. They part with Sullinger, who is a pending free agent, and Bradley, which is a tough pill to swallow, but the Celtics have other prospects to slide in at guard. The development of Marcus Smart should make this feasible on the Celtics behalf.
Why do the Heat do this?
The Heat get a quality big man back in Sullinger, he’s a pending free agent, but he’s coming off a rookie deal which would provide them with a ton of options. They also get Bradley, a top quality two-way guard; he can play on or off ball, an ideal pairing to play with a guy like Wade. They also add a pick to fill out the roster.

The Heat make good on Whiteside’s value and prevent the heartache that would come with Whiteside bolting this offseason.
