2. Washington Wizards

Like the Rockets, the Washington Wizards could be due for a roster shakeup if they want to take the next step in their own playoff picture. Nene Hilario has never been more useless than he is now, and with the Wizards floundering to a 16-19 start, a high risk trade like this might be Washington’s only alternative to firing Randy Wittman midseason.

With Jared Dudley playing as a small-ball 4, the Wizards are struggling to regain lost ground in the Eastern Conference standings. For a banged up frontcourt that could use a little extra size, defense and rebounding, Morris could be a fine addition. Pick-and-pops with him and John Wall could be intriguing as well.

For the Suns, Nene would be an entirely worthless pickup, which is why some sort of draft pick would need to be included. A swap of Markieff for Jared Dudley and Kris Humphries would work from a financial standpoint, but Washington probably wouldn’t be willing to give up that much with the frontcourt so shorthanded.

The Wizards could use another offensive weapon, especially since Bradley Beal is still sidelined with a leg injury. Archie Goodwin would be needed to make the contracts match, but he’s a talented youngster and wouldn’t be a throw-away by any means. With Washington 2.5 games out of a playoff spot, the time is now to make some changes to get this disappointing season back on track.
