2016 NBA Rookie Ladder: How High Is D’angelo Russell’s Ceiling?
3. Jahlil Okafor, Philadelphia 76ers
Still far and away the best pure scorer in the 2015 NBA draft class, Okafor has put points on the board in bunches and he’s now doing it at a fairly efficient rate.
He’s raised his field goal percentage to 47.8 percent on the year while pouring in 17.4 points per game. He’s also made free throws at a 70.1 percent clip.
There’s no question Okafor has an offensive game built for success in the NBA, but outside of putting points on the board he hasn’t shown anything else to his game.
Rebounding has come and gone and the defensive talent has been virtually nonexistent outside of a few blocked shots here and there.
If he becomes an all-around player Okafor has a chance at being the best player in this class. However if he remains the talent that he is now he doesn’t have a chance of catching the next two players in these rankings or even Russell.
