Jeff Hornacek

This one feels inevitable. The Phoenix Suns have been a catastrophe all season, and the man presiding over a catastrophe usually ends up paying for it. Jeff Hornacek didn’t create this mess, but he’s probably going to have to pay the price for whoever did.

Markieff Morris‘ Phoenix tenure has become a twisted joke since the Suns dealt his younger brother Marcus Morris to Detroit, and Markieff has done his best to sabotage Phoenix ever since. It seemed impossible that he remained in this locker room after blowing up this summer, but lo and behold he’s still around to throw towels at his head coach during games.

The Suns’ number of wins and number of games below .500 is the same number at the moment, which is not something you ever want to happen to your team. Sitting at 13-26 stings even worse considering the Suns finished with 48 wins two years ago, but that season is long gone now.

The Suns need to completely rebuild, and they should start soon. There’s no point in putting this off anymore. Eric Bledsoe is out for the year, Morris needs to be dealt right away, and Hornacek has outlasted his welcome in Phoenix.
