The NBA trade deadline is always a wonderful time of year. It’s a time when basketball fans everywhere stalk Twitter like jealous exes, when contenders are assembled and when vendettas are born. Other than free agency and maybe draft night, the drama is at its juiciest when the NBA trade deadline approaches.

To pump the brakes a little bit, it should be noted that the 2016 NBA trade deadline is still a few weeks away. But we’ve already heard rumblings about a few players that could be on the trade market, leading many to speculate what kind of activity we’ll see as Feb. 18 approaches.

One of the first names to crop up was Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin, who hadn’t played in the team’s last seven games before logging a mere 16 minutes against the Denver Nuggets last Wednesday. With Andrew Wiggins starting at the 2 and Zach LaVine being leagues better when he’s not playing point guard, the Wolves have no need for Martin anymore.

With K-Mart so obviously on the trade block, his scoring ability and three-point shot could be a big boost to a near-contender trying to bolster its roster for a playoff run. His defense leaves a lot to be desired, but Martin still has a lot to offer a potential playoff team. Here’s a look at five teams that should be interested in his services.
