NBA Trade Rumors: Best Landing Spots for Taj Gibson
2. Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings have an All-NBA Second Team center in DeMarcus Cousins and an All-NBA Third Team point guard in Rajon Rondo. Cousins is one of the best scorers in the Association, and Rondo is No. 1 in assists for the third time in his career.
There’s just something missing.
Cousins has been tasked with evolving into the Kings’ offensive centerpiece and defensive anchor. While that’s been traditionally expected of elite big men, it’s a big burden to handle for a 25-year-old whose coaching staff consistently changes.
Now under George Karl‘s leadership, it’d behoove Sacramento to provide Cousins with a potential defensive anchor to operate alongside.
Gibson’s value as an offensive rebounder is clear, and his physical defense is known to set the tone down low. He’ll welcome contact, embrace his role as an anchor, and provide a sufficient amount of secondary interior offense.
Gibson and Cousins would form one of the most physically imposing interiors in the NBA.
