Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors have moments during which they look elite. Lowry has a number of advanced metrics that suggest he’s on the cusp of being just that, but Toronto is prone to letdowns that simply cannot be overlooked.
Lowry is doing everything he can to create consistency.
Lowry opened the week with 18 points and 11 assists in a 104-94 home win against the Charlotte Hornets. He followed with 22 points and 10 assists in a two-point loss to the Chicago Bulls, and 23 points and 10 assists in a lopsided defeat at the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Realizing that his team needed more than just points and dimes, Lowry tallied 17 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals in a 91-74 blowout of the Brooklyn Nets.
It’s bigger than numbers, but Lowry’s ability to contribute in virtually every area is what makes him a unique player. Despite standing at an undersized 6’0″ tall, he can take over games in ways that most point guards can only dream of.
That’s exactly why Lowry is No. 5 in the NBA in Win Shares.
