1. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors

Last Rank: No. 1

Position: Point Guard

Age: 27

Slash Line: .510/.445/.903

Season Averages: 33.8 MPG, 29.3 PPG, 6.3 APG, 2.2 SPG, 4.5 3PM

The Golden State Warriors are off to the greatest start in NBA history, and Stephen Curry is not too far behind from an individual perspective. Thus, it comes as no surprise that Curry has been No. 1 since the opening week of the player power rankings.

At this point, the only rational question is: what will he do next?

Curry’s production isn’t as outlandish as it was in November, but that doesn’t change his status as the No. 1 player. His efficiency is otherworldly, the Warriors are 33-2—the best record in NBA history through 35 games—and Curry is etching his name into the history books.

For fans of the advanced metrics, Curry’s Player Efficiency Rating of 31.69 is the highest since LeBron James’ mark of 31.76 in 2008-09.

More hoops habit: Who are the Top 30 prospects in the 2016 NBA Draft? What must they do to solidify their current status?

Furthermore, Curry’s true shooting percentage of .677 is on pace to be the highest in NBA history amongst players who averaged at least 25.0 points per game. That’s hard to believe considering Curry is averaging 4.5 3-point field goals made per game—1.1 more than anyone other than Curry has ever averaged in a single season.

Curry’s becoming a legend before our very eyes, and it’s a glorious sight to see.
