Due to a small sample size, Kyrie Irving won’t be appearing in the Top 20 of these rankings at any point in the near future. Assuming he maintains his current level of play for an extended period of time, however, the 23-year-old should have no trouble cracking this list.

It’d simply be unfair to ignore how brilliant he’s been already.

Irving needs more than seven games to crack the Top 20, but he’s been superb already. He posted 25 points and eight assists in 29 minutes against the Toronto Raptors, and had 32 points in 34 minutes at the Washington Wizards.

Torching Kyle Lowry and John Wall is a great way to reaffirm one’s position as one of the NBA’s best point guards.

Irving is still finding his rhythm, which is to be expected after he missed the first 26 games of the season. Highlighted by his 19 fourth-quarter points against the Wizards, it’s clear that Irving can still play at an elite level.

Irving simply needs more than seven games to make a Top 20 appearance.
