11. James Harden, Houston Rockets

Last Rank: No. 9

Position: Shooting Guard

Age: 26

Slash Line: .417/.345/.873

Season Averages: 37.9 MPG, 28.1 PPG, 6.7 APG, 5.9 RPG, 1.6 SPG, 0.7 BPG, 2.8 3PM

The Houston Rockets have been the most consistently inconsistent team in the NBA. Houston, 17-19, has four losing streaks of three games or more, and three winning streaks of the same nature.

James Harden’s play has mirrored his team’s.

Harden’s highs have created exceptional numbers, but that doesn’t balance out the lows in the way one might presume. Opponents are shooting 47.2 percent when the 26-year-old is the primary defender, and his 4.6 turnovers per game are the most in the NBA.

The offensive statistics are impressive, but his combination of inefficiency and recklessness cannot be ignored.

With all of this being established, Harden is No. 2 in the NBA in scoring and No. 10 in assists per game. He’s an offensive force to be reckoned with, and that’s saved Houston from being even worse than it is.

He may be on the outside looking in of the Top 10 right now, but that could change at any given moment.
