No. 1 LeBron James

Total SF rating: 36.7

The NBA as a whole has belonged to LeBron James ever since he entered the league. Of course, the Lakers and Spurs were winning championships and it took James a lot longer than people thought to get his first ring, but he was without a doubt the most dominant player from recent years.

It has become routine to post the type of numbers he is this season–25.6 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.

If the MVP award was decided on which player literally was the most valuable to their respective team, James could have been the winner for the past 12 years. Once again, his name will be mentioned on the list of candidates as he has the Cleveland Cavaliers atop the Eastern Conference with a 23-9 record.

With the return of Kyrie Irving, the Cavaliers look head and shoulders above every team in the East. Even though there has been a shift of power in some sorts to the East becoming a better overall conference, the Cavaliers will remain the favorites as long as King James is their leader.
