NBA: Top Small Forwards So Far In 2015-16
No. 3 Paul George
Total SF rating: 34.2
What George has been doing this season is sensational, especially considering the fact that he is coming off a compound fracture of his leg just two summers ago. There were questions of whether or not George would ever be able to play basketball again, let alone at the MVP-candidate form he was prior to the injury.
All those questions were answered convincingly and swiftly once this season kicked off. George isn’t only able to play basketball at a high level, he is playing some of the best basketball of his career. He is averaging career-highs in points (24.7), rebounds (7.7), and assists (3.9).
George has tallied 11 games with 30 or more points, including a recent 32-point performance where he scored the final 21 points to help the Pacers overcome the Detroit Pistons.
The Pacers sit in sixth place in the East with a 19-15 record. Their playoff hopes seem promising especially if George can keep up this level of play with which is his right now. His name has often been mentioned in MVP conversations right behind frontrunner Stephen Curry.
George and C.J. Miles have been lights out for the Pacers thus far. With the return of rookie Myles Turner from injury, the Pacers will look to take the next step in becoming a top five team in the Eastern Conference.
