No. 5 Kyle Lowry

Total PG rating: 30.9

Lowry came into this season looking like a new man — literally. It was evident that his offseason workouts and adjustment in his dieting had a major impact and as a result, Lowry looked much thinner. His size last season did give him an advantage against other point guards physically, but it also took a toll on Lowry himself having to lug around the extra weight throughout the rigorous 82-game schedule.

Lowry ranks fifth in points per game among point guards (20.5), fourth in rebounds (4.9), and third in steals (2.2). His efforts have helped the Raptors to a solid 21-14 record, which is good enough for fourth place in a much improved Eastern Conference.

If he continues this level of play throughout the rest of the season, it will be difficult not to include Lowry’s name in the conversations as a top point guard in the league. His best performance this season came against the the Golden State Warriors when he dropped 41 points, including six three-pointers, in the loss.
