New Year’s Resolution: Make Free Throws

Kris Dunn of the Providence Friars is the best point guard prospect in the country. He has prototypical size, elite playmaking skills, and is one of the best defensive players available.

As soon as Dunn gets his shot to fall with more consistency, he’ll be the complete package.

Dunn can create in both the half court and transition, thriving as a facilitator and a penetrating scorer. His size and quickness help him get to the basket and finish in traffic, and his court vision is second to none.

The issue for Dunn is that he struggles at the free throw line. He isn’t the best 3-point shooter, but he’s closer to average than below it, which thus shifts attention to his woes at the charity stripe.

In order for Dunn to complete his evolution into the quintessential point guard, and thus certify his status as a Top 5 prospect in the 2016 NBA Draft, he needs to sink the freebies.
